Who we are
DeenOD Studio is a games studio operated as a sole proprietorship out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This policy covers both the studio site at deenod.com and the DeenOD app on iOS. Emailprivacy@deenod.cc with any privacy questions or requests.
What the site collects
- Email address when you sign up to the studio waitlist. Stored in Firestore with a source field, date, and any title-specific interests you optionally indicated.
- Contact form submissions (name, email, message, category) when you write to us. Stored in Firestore long enough to respond, then archived.
- Leaderboard entries (handle and score only) when you post a trivia score on the site's mini-game. No email, no account required. Handle is sanitized server-side and stored publicly.
- Anonymous analytics via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. Coarse-grained data only: page views, referrers, country-level location, browser family.
- Server logs kept by Netlify for operational reasons. Includes IP addresses and timestamps per Netlify's policy.
We do not use cookies for advertising or behavioral tracking. We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
What the app collects
- Account info - an email address, or the identifier Google or Apple shares when you sign in that way. The app requires an account so your progress can follow you across devices.
- Game save - journey progress, ranked duel rating and history, XP, display name, avatar, and which cosmetic items you own. Stored in Firestore (Google Cloud), scoped to your account.
- Leaderboard standing (display name, avatar, XP, duel rating) is visible to other signed-in players. It carries no email.
- Coarse location, only if you grant it, to calculate accurate prayer times on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers or stored.
- Push notification token, if notifications are enabled, to deliver reminders and announcements.
- Crash reports and product analytics (Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics) - which screens are used and whether the app crashes, so we can fix bugs and understand what to build next. This is not used for advertising, and the app does not track you across other apps or websites.
- Bug reports you submit in-app, which include your account email so we can follow up.
Purchases are handled entirely by the App Store - DeenOD never sees or stores your card details. We only record which cosmetic items your account owns.
How we use it
- To send studio updates if you joined the waitlist.
- To reply to anything you send via the contact email or an in-app bug report.
- To run your account: cloud save, the leaderboard, ranked duels, and purchase ownership.
- To understand which pages and features get used, in aggregate, and to find and fix crashes.
- To run the site and app: security, abuse prevention, infrastructure.
Third-party processors
- Firebase (Google Cloud) - Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, and Crashlytics for both the site and the app.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, aggregate page-view data on the site.
- Netlify, hosts the site and runs its API routes.
- Apple and Google, process all app purchases and handle refunds under their own policies.
- Resend, transactional email delivery for the site's contact and join forms.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold. In the app, Profile → Settings → Delete account removes your sign-in, save, and leaderboard entry immediately - see the delete-account guide. For anything else, email privacy@deenod.cc and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
The studio site and the app are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have received such data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this policy as the studio evolves. Material changes will be announced via the studio waitlist.
